Around 22:00 on August 16, a sudden flash flood in the upper reaches of Wugaisugou, Dongwugai Township, Urad Rear Banner, Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia, caused multiple campers to go missing. As of 17:20 on August 17, it has resulted in 10 campers confirmed dead, 2 missing, and 1 rescued.
Local residents online mentioned that these tourists seemed to be students who had just completed the college entrance examination. As there were no attractions in the area, they spontaneously went camping in the mountain gullies. However, the terrain here is quite special, and if there is heavy rain, flash floods are likely to occur. They said that the police, armed police, and fire department were all mobilized.

Heavy rain areas may experience flash floods, urban floods, and other disasters.

The combination of heavy rainfall and the mountainous terrain of Qian Da Men Gou led to a high gradient, steep slope, and strong instant water flow impact. Around 00:10 on July 9, the west side embankment of the Qian Da Men Bridge at kilometer 1066 of national highway G335 was washed away by floodwaters, resulting in 1 person falling into the floodwaters and going missing.
