On June 17, 2024, Korean boy band INFINITE member Kim Myungsoo (L) held a personal fan meeting titled “2024 Kim Myungsoo Asia Tour Fan Meeting ‘Reboot’ in TAIPEI” at the National Taiwan University Sports Center. During the event, he not only interacted with fans, but also shared stories as an actor, expressing his commitment to visiting Taiwan annually to meet with his fans.
Kim Myungsoo made a stunning entrance in an all-black suit, singing “Love U Like U” as he mingled with OVE & INSPIRIT (official fan club) up close. He generously expressed his love and gratitude, saying in Chinese, “Thank you for coming to see me, I am happy, I love you all,” and joyfully expressed his hope that everyone would enjoy the night together. Despite the continuous screams from fans, he reminded everyone in Chinese throughout the event to “be quiet! be quiet!”
During the first Q&A segment, a fan asked whether his good looks caused any inconvenience in his daily life. Kim Myungsoo laughed and replied, “Because of my profession, sometimes I have trouble eating well.” He joked, “I really like to eat, and this time everyone brought me a lot of things like fried chicken and many foods, but I can’t eat them until after the show,” even reminding the staff, “These are mine!”
When fans requested him to imitate the tone of the character Shen Runfu from the Korean drama “Angel’s Last Mission: Love” for a morning wake-up call, he readily agreed, allowing everyone to experience being woken up by their idol. Furthermore, when fans asked him to sing “Love Time,” he delighted the audience with an impromptu live performance.
Fans also tested his dance memory by challenging him with REELS’ “Love in the First” and “Big Ears Dog” challenge, where he invited fans to join in and collaborate on the REELS recording, promising to share it online later.
When asked if he would consider covering a Chinese song, Kim Myungsoo revealed his liking for “Want to See You Want to See You Want to See You” and performed a live rendition, impressing fans with his accurate pronunciation.
During the fan meeting, Kim Myungsoo not only showcased his singing talent with songs like “Love U Like U,” “ONE MORE TIME,” “CREEP,” “REAL STORY,” and “Words I Want to Say (말하고 싶어요)” but also shared his experiences as an actor, revisiting the roles he has portrayed in various dramas.
Reflecting on the impact of these roles on him, he expressed a preference for physical scripts over digital ones and mentioned how he enjoys annotating scripts with highlighters, reminiscent of his student days studying.
The event also featured a guess-the-song title competition and a remaining Q&A segment where winners received posters with his autograph, each sprayed with his favorite perfume, making these gifts even more special. Throughout the event, Kim Myungsoo engaged with fans, creating an atmosphere filled with laughter.
As the fan meeting concluded, Kim Myungsoo prepared a surprise activity for fans, personally presenting gifts and promising to visit Taiwan every year to meet with everyone.
In addition to his ongoing drama “Angel’s Last Mission: Love,” his group INFINITE celebrated its 14th anniversary on June 9, where Kim Myungsoo performed a segment of their new single “FLOWER” live. Looking ahead, there is a fan meeting event “INFINITE Great Gathering” scheduled for July, and he is excited to meet OVE & INSPIRIT in Taipei.
