India Is Too Hot: Female News Anchor Faints While Reporting

As India enters the summer season, temperatures are soaring. Recently, a female TV anchor fainted while reporting on the heatwave news due to the high temperature in the studio, but fortunately she quickly recovered without any major issues.

Lopamudra Sinha, a female anchor from the West Bengal division of the state-owned All India Television (Doordarshan), started to turn pale while reporting on the heatwave news on April 18, and shortly after, she collapsed.

In a video shared by Sinha on Facebook on April 19, several TV station staff rushed to fan her with news scripts, and she gradually regained consciousness.

In the video, Sinha mentioned that the air conditioning system in the TV studio had malfunctioned that day, causing the temperature indoors to become extremely hot.

She said that she never needed to drink water while reporting the news before, but that day she felt parched. Unfortunately, due to being live on air, she couldn’t get water and eventually lost consciousness.

Sinha reminded the public to pay attention to their physical condition in the summer, drink plenty of water, and urged the government to plant more trees.

In India, the summer season lasts from April to July, and temperatures can sometimes reach up to 50 degrees Celsius. Every year, there are reports of people, including the homeless, dying from heatstroke. The temperatures in West Bengal have been over 40 degrees Celsius recently.

Due to the meteorological department’s prediction of an upcoming heatwave, the West Bengal government announced last week that public schools would start their summer vacation early from today.
