ICE Special Agent: Anti-ICE Law Enforcement Endangers Public Safety

The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) anonymous special agent responsible for deportation affairs discussed some recent anti-ICE phenomena and their impacts on Thursday, September 25th.

He told Fox News that some videos produced by Democrats against ICE could make third-party observers “mistake us for kidnapping hostages,” which not only poses a significant threat to law enforcement operations themselves but also endangers agents, undocumented immigrants involved, and public safety. This phenomenon was especially evident following the deadly shooting incident at the Dallas ICE facility on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, a gunman opened fire at the Dallas ICE facility, resulting in the death of one undocumented immigrant and injuring two others. The gunman later committed suicide.

Authorities confirmed that the gunman was 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, with bullets he carried clearly marked with “anti-ICE,” showing his hatred towards ICE. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated that Jahn “indiscriminately fired” at a van parked at the entrance of the ICE building, targeting ICE law enforcement officers.

Following the incident, both the DHS and President Donald Trump urged Democrats to reduce their anti-ICE rhetoric.

However, some Democrats also condemned the shooting incident. Texas Democratic Representative Joaquin Castro called the shooting a “heartbreaking act of violence” and urged everyone to “reject political extremism.”

In recent months, anti-ICE activities have emerged across the United States, with some Democrats also participating. Last week, Democratic congressional candidate and activist Kat Abughazaleh uploaded a video documenting her participation in a protest outside the ICE facility in Broadview, Illinois, captioned with “This is what ICE violating our First Amendment rights looks like.”

Last week, New York City Democratic Comptroller Brad Lander staged a sit-in protest at the city’s ICE office. Protesters reportedly attempted to forcibly enter the office and detention area, demanding access to the facility. ICE officials stated that the detention area housed several “serious criminal undocumented immigrants.”

On June 17th, inside a New York City courthouse, when ICE officers were escorting a defendant out of the immigration court, then-Democratic mayoral candidate Lander grabbed onto the law enforcement officer and continuously questioned whether there was an arrest warrant. Federal officials ultimately handcuffed him.
