ICE deport 122 Chinese nationals in large-scale operation, many convicted

On June 3, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) carried out a large-scale operation, deporting 122 Chinese citizens back to their country. This is part of the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) nationwide efforts to remove illegal immigrants.

In a press release issued by ICE Dallas Field Office on Monday, June 9, the agency announced the deportation of the 122 illegal immigrants. The press release stated that among the group were 96 males and 26 females, ranging in age from 19 to 68, with many having criminal records.

Josh Johnson, Acting Field Office Director for Enforcement and Removal Operations at ICE Dallas Field Office, said in the press release, “Through our interagency collaboration and coordination with ICE field offices nationwide, we have successfully deported these individuals, many of whom have committed heinous crimes.”

The press release mentioned that these deportees had been held in ICE detention facilities across the country and had received final removal orders. ICE emphasized that these illegal immigrants had violated U.S. immigration law.

“Any foreign national who violates U.S. immigration law, regardless of nationality, may be arrested, detained, and if ultimately ordered deported, will be removed from the country,” ICE stated.

Those on the deportation flight included illegal immigrants convicted of murder, sexual offenses, human trafficking, rape, and drug trafficking. ICE cited several examples of criminals: a 47-year-old male convicted of murder, a 49-year-old male convicted of drug trafficking, a 27-year-old male convicted of rape, a 50-year-old female convicted of bribery, and a 55-year-old male convicted of human trafficking.

“ICE personnel are working tirelessly every day to identify, apprehend, and deport those who are trying to circumvent our country’s immigration laws,” Johnson remarked. “This operation not only enhances public safety in communities across the United States but also strengthens national security.”
