Recently, in Longshan County, Xiangxi Prefecture, Hunan Province, several urban management officers assaulted a merchant, prompting nearby residents to intervene.
On the morning of June 15, mainland netizens exposed that several urban management officers in Longshan County, Xiangxi Prefecture, Hunan Province, had a dispute with a merchant, restraining a man on the ground and physically attacking him.
A video circulating online shows a man in black pants being pinned down by urban management officers in uniform, while several other officers wearing vests with “Longshan Urban Management” and “Urban Management Enforcement” written on them punched and kicked the man on the ground. Despite the surrounding residents pulling and trying to stop them, the officers continued the assault. The scene descended into chaos as residents persisted in their attempts to intervene.
The person who filmed the video said, “What you are doing is unacceptable.”
On the 16th, an informant told “JiMu News” that the incident occurred on Beizheng Street in Longshan County, Xiangxi Prefecture. The man being attacked is a merchant who deals in cured meat. It is preliminarily understood that the primary attackers were urban management personnel from Longshan County, and the extent of the merchant’s injuries is unknown.
A driver in Longshan County mentioned that upon investigation, he found that the incident took place in an alley on the north side of Chaoyang Road in the county, where there are a vegetable market and a wholesale market.
A nearby merchant revealed that the alley where the incident occurred is locally known as Beizheng Street.
Personnel from the Min’an Police Station of Longshan County Public Security Bureau confirmed receiving related reports. The Longshan County government office admitted that urban management officers were indeed involved in the attack on the merchant. Calls made to the Longshan County Urban Management Bureau, Urban Management Enforcement Detachment, and the Propaganda Department of the Longshan County Committee were left unanswered.
