On April 17th, Chinese actor Huang Xiaoming filed a lawsuit against a popular social media influencer with millions of followers. The case is set to be heard in court on June 4th, creating a buzz on Weibo’s hot search list.
Huang Xiaoming and Angelababy publicly announced their relationship in February 2014 and had their wedding in Shanghai on October 8, 2015. Their son was born on January 17, 2017. After announcing their divorce on January 28, 2022, rumors swirled about Huang Xiaoming’s relationship status, with reports surfacing in May of the same year linking him to Ye Ke.
Despite not responding to previous rumors, Huang Xiaoming surprised fans on September 19th of last year when he posted on Weibo, “Sorry for taking up public resources, stop guessing, we are together,” tagging Ye Ke’s account and publicly acknowledging their relationship. While he did not directly address his marital status, this post led to online banter about unveiling a well-known secret.
Following his public declaration of love for Ye Ke, Huang Xiaoming’s relationship has been a subject of great interest. Reports circulated of breakups, reconciliations, and even rumors in February of Ye Ke giving birth to a daughter, leaving their relationship status shrouded in mystery.
According to reports from Hong Kong’s “Oriental Daily News,” a social media influencer with over a million followers continuously targeted Huang Xiaoming with supposed “exposés,” including claims that Ye Ke demanded a 270 million yuan separation fee from Huang Xiaoming and used derogatory terms to describe her. These actions, amidst rumors of their breakup, led many netizens astray based on the influencer’s misleading statements.
Records from the Enterprise Check App show that on April 17th, the court served Huang Xiaoming and the self-media blogger Gong Wenxiang with a copy of the lawsuit regarding online infringement disputes and a court summons, with the case scheduled for a trial on June 4th. Some speculate that Huang Xiaoming’s legal action indirectly serves to protect Ye Ke. Although keen-eyed netizens had noticed a change in Huang Xiaoming’s Baidu profile in December, where Ye Ke was listed as “ex-girlfriend” instead of “girlfriend,” the information has since been deleted, leading many to believe that the couple is still together.
