The democratic primary election case will be adjudicated over two consecutive days starting this Thursday (30th). It has been reported that since the 27th, media outlets have been “reserving seats” outside the West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts where the case is being heard, placing chairs and sticking papers with the names of their respective organizations. Today, more than ten media outlets have already “reserved seats” at the scene, with the chairs cordoned off by barriers labeled as the “press area,” and police officers nearby on guard.
This case involves 47 individuals charged with “conspiring to subvert state power” under the Hong Kong National Security Law, with 16 of them pleading not guilty. The individuals include Wu Zhengheng, Zheng Dahong, Yang Xueying, Peng Zhuoqi, He Qiming, Liu Weicong, Wong Pik-wan, Shi Delai, Ho Kwai-lan, Chan Chi-chuen, Chau Ka-shing, Lam Cheuk-ting, Leung Kwok-hung, Ko Yiu-lam, Li Yuxin, and Yu Huiming.
