Hong Kong’s “Epoch Times” to Temporarily Halt Printing Operations

Hong Kong’s Epoch Times will publish its last print edition on September 17, 2024, coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The decision to temporarily halt printing and daily newspaper distribution was made due to the expiration of the lease for the printing press in Hong Kong Epoch Times, coupled with various factors affecting Hong Kong at present.

While this development brings immense regret, it is not without a sense of sorrow.

Since 2001, the print edition of Hong Kong’s Epoch Times has accompanied the citizens of Hong Kong for a full 23 years. These were not just 23 ordinary cycles of seasons but over 8,000 days and nights of the rising and falling of Hong Kong’s fortunes. For those who cherish Hong Kong, these 8,000 bitter days were shared with Epoch Times, facing helplessness and pain alongside the people of Hong Kong while also collectively anticipating the dawn and the future.

“The young vines wear the azure, soothing my heart; yet for you, my lord, I ponder until now.”

It is a time of despair, but it is also a time of hope. In the darkness, we have never ceased to hold onto hope. Indeed, the arrival of dawn has never felt as close as it does now.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our loyal readers, partners, and advertising clients who have supported and encouraged us over the years. Despite the temporary suspension of the Epoch Times newspaper, the website of “Hong Kong Epoch Times” will continue to be a voice for Hong Kong.
