His friend Zhang Quan, who accompanied Wang during the interview, confirmed that last year was the unhappiest year for Wang. “He indeed has emotional issues, he sets high standards for himself, giving himself a lot of pressure,” Zhang said. He added that in the end, Wang had to overcome these mental challenges by himself, and all his friends could do was to accompany him.
Wang maintained his humorous personality during the interview, but his expression turned serious when discussing his depression. To hear that the typically sunny Jackson Wang had revealed his struggles with depression, many internet users expressed disbelief and sympathy.
In July of this year, during an interview with “Bazaar,” Wang mentioned how time flew by with his parents getting older and old friends changing so much. He reflected on the past ten years, stating that he has gained and lost a lot, turning 30, he decided to pause, reflect on all aspects of his life, and rejuvenate himself.
Wang shared that for the past decade, he had been constantly rushing forward, shuttling between various cities like Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, Seoul, Paris, New York, sleeping only three to four hours a day, with the rest dedicated to work.
When asked about his desire to be a father before turning 35, Wang expressed that he definitely plans to get married and had considered having children by the age of 35. He emphasized that idols are also ordinary people who will think about marriage and having children.
