Hong Kong actress Linda Chung’s husband, a wealthy businessman, repeatedly caught in debt, files for bankruptcy.

At the age of 37, Rosina Lam, the TVB award-winning actress from Hong Kong, tied the knot with financial prodigy Mo Zansheng in 2015, whose net worth once reached a staggering 2 billion Hong Kong dollars. After showcasing their luxurious lifestyle on social media post-wedding, Rosina Lam made headlines on May 30th when a company filed for bankruptcy against her in the High Court. The case is scheduled for hearing on August 26th in the afternoon.

According to reports from “Hong Kong 01,” Rosina Lam has been sued for bankruptcy by Jadespring Limited in the High Court. The petition for bankruptcy lists Rosina Lam, whose address in Mount Austin matches the location of the luxurious residence she owns in the upscale neighborhood.

Born in Xiamen, Fujian, China, Rosina Lam is the cousin of Hong Kong artist Raymond Lam. She moved to Hong Kong at the age of 4, returned to mainland China for schooling at 9, and then pursued a degree at the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing at the age of 16, where she was classmates with mainland Chinese actor Chen Xiao. After graduation, she returned to Hong Kong to embark on her acting career and achieved fame by winning the Best Actress award for her role in the TV drama “Seven Princesses” in 2021, beating out the popular series “Healing Hands” starring Charmaine Sheh.

Rosina Lam’s high-profile marriage to the wealthy financier Mo Zansheng drew significant attention. In 2015, she quietly married the finance whiz 16 years her senior, and with his alleged wealth of 2 billion Hong Kong dollars, she was dubbed the “2 Billion Dollar Madame.” Despite outward appearances of wealth, she frequently shared glimpses of her lavish life in her Mount Austin mansion. Last year, she launched a diamond company, garnering support from many industry friends, and even generously gifted each guest at the launch event a half-carat diamond as a token of appreciation.

Rosina Lam was last seen in public 5 days ago when she attended her cousin Raymond Lam’s concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum. Images captured her in a stunning black V-neck dress paired with luxury watches and an Hermès handbag. Just 3 days before that, she shared a photo on social media from inside a business class airplane seat with a CHANEL handbag beside her, exuding opulence in every move. The sudden news of her bankruptcy filing has left the public shocked and puzzled.

Reports suggest that Mo Zansheng is a shareholder in multiple private and publicly listed companies but has faced financial troubles in recent years. He has been targeted with flyers demanding repayment of debts and is allegedly entangled in money disputes. In 2019, he was even implicated in a case of extortion in mainland China and was wanted by public security, though Rosina Lam later clarified on social media that the allegations were false.

Regarding the bankruptcy claims, Rosina Lam responded to “Hong Kong 01,” saying, “A company that my husband Jason rents a house from is involved in a lawsuit, which is currently under appeal. So, I am also taken aback by this news. It’s being handled by our lawyers, and I haven’t received any official notifications.”
