Honda recalls 406,000 Civic cars due to possible wheel detachment.

Honda is recalling over 400,000 popular Civic cars due to a manufacturing defect that could cause wheels to detach while driving. The voluntary recall affects 406,000 Civic cars from 2016 to 2021.

The issue, according to Honda, stems from a supplier error that “could lead to wheels coming off due to loose nuts.” The car manufacturer stated in a press release that this mistake “could result in wheels separating from the vehicle, increasing the risk of collisions or injuries.”

Only a limited number of vehicles (3,276) are equipped with wheels that may have the defect, and Honda is urging Civic owners to take their vehicles within the recall range to authorized Honda dealers for inspection.

If necessary, dealers will replace the wheels at no cost. Honda has reported no confirmed accidents or injuries caused by these defective wheels as of November 7.

Civic owners can also visit the Honda website or call (888) 234-2138 to check if their vehicles are included in the recall.
