In Henan Xuchang City, a well-known supermarket, Pang Donglai, recently witnessed a violent incident involving a knife attack. A man armed with a knife assaulted a couple, causing panic among the customers in the mall.
A video captured by a netizen showed a man in dark clothing wielding a weapon as he chased a couple inside the shopping mall, with large patches of blood visible on the ground. Surrounding customers scattered in fear, screams could be heard, and the scene descended into chaos momentarily.
In another video clip, several uniformed mall security guards were seen chasing the suspect, while customers either crouched down to avoid or retreated to safe areas.
An eyewitness who was shopping on the first floor that day recounted hearing staff shouting, “Everyone run to the second floor,” prompting her to evacuate upstairs with her child without much thought. Along the way, she saw a woman with a bleeding wrist, causing her to feel frightened. By the time she came down from the second floor, the police had arrived and were setting up a cordon at the scene.
Another witness stated that the perpetrator was quickly subdued by the mall security, and the weapon used by the assailant appeared to be a kitchen knife.
On November 3, the Weidu Sub-bureau of the Xuchang Public Security Bureau responded to the media, stating that the incident occurred around 2 a.m. on November 2 at the entrance of the first-floor lobby of the Pengdonglai Living Plaza on Nandajie Street in Weidu District. The suspect, Feng, a 37-year-old male, injured the couple Wu, 41, and Xu, 39, due to a dispute. Feng was apprehended on the spot, and currently, the condition of the two injured individuals is reported as “stable.”
As the Chinese Communist Party is known for concealing the truth, the exact circumstances and casualties remain unclear.
