On October 8th, a helicopter suddenly crashed in Xuchang, Henan. The crash occurred at the Weidu High-tech Industrial Park in Xuchang. According to reports, the cause of the accident was the helicopter’s tail hitting high-voltage wires.
Videos from the scene show a helicopter crashed on a road, lying on its side with visible damage and flames emanating from the wreckage.
At noon on the 8th, a witness named Mr. Wu told “Qilu Yidian” that around 11:50 a.m., he saw the crash site where the helicopter fell on a road in the Weidu High-tech Industrial Park in Xuchang.
Workers at the scene explained that the helicopter crashed after hitting high-voltage wires, resulting in injuries to some individuals. The area has been cordoned off. An eyewitness stated that the pilot on the helicopter was injured.
Another witness told “Xin Huanghe” that the helicopter fell around 11:40 a.m., in a corner of the park and efforts were made to extinguish the fire, fortunately without hitting anyone.
Reports indicate that on the afternoon of the 8th, calls to the Weidu High-tech Industrial Park in Xuchang were not going through.
A staff member of the Weidu District Fire Rescue Brigade in Xuchang City confirmed that indeed a helicopter fell in the Weidu High-tech Industrial Park, resulting in minor injuries to the pilot. The cause of the accident was identified as the helicopter’s tail hitting high-voltage wires. As for the affiliation of the helicopter, they mentioned not having clear information on that.
Public records show that the Weidu High-tech Industrial Park is located 300 meters south of the intersection of Hongteng Road and Laodong Road on the west side, adjacent to the Qingyi River, in Xuchang City, Henan Province. The park covers a total land area of 181 mu (about 12 hectares) with a total building area of 175,000 square meters. It has 11 standardized factory buildings, including four four-story standard floors, three single-story high ceilings, and four double-story high ceilings, all equipped with high-end commercial office areas.
