Helicopter crashes and catches fire in Dalian, Liaoning

On October 9th, a helicopter accident occurred in Dalian, Liaoning Province, China. The rear rotating blades of the aircraft collided with the ground, causing a fire. Official reports stated that the accident resulted in 2 people sustaining minor injuries, but the exact details remain unclear. The day before, on October 8th, another helicopter crashed suddenly in Xuchang, Henan Province, at the Weidu High-Tech Industrial Park.

The state-owned media CGTN reported on October 9th that the emergency department in the Jinpu New Area of Dalian, Liaoning Province, announced that around 11:40 am that day, a helicopter performing seasonal aerial forest monitoring tasks landed at the Jinpu New Area Regional Aerial Forest Monitoring Station. During the process of taxiing on the ground, the rear rotating blades of the aircraft collided with the ground, triggering a fire.

According to official reports, there were 3 people on board at the time of the incident, with one person escaping unharmed and two sustaining minor injuries. By 12:10 pm, the on-site fire had been extinguished, but the helicopter was damaged.

The report stated that the accident was caused by improper operation by the helicopter pilot.

The day before, on October 8th, in Xuchang, Henan Province, a helicopter crashed suddenly at the Weidu High-Tech Industrial Park. It was reported that the cause of the accident was the helicopter’s tail hitting a high-voltage line.
