Hedge Fund Manager: Trump is the Most Business-Friendly President in History

On October 21, 2025, Bill Ackman, an American hedge fund manager and billionaire, stated that President Trump is the most pro-business president in United States history.

During an interview on the CNBC program “Squawk Box” on Tuesday, Ackman, the founder and CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management, mentioned that President Trump’s governance is particularly beneficial for American businesses.

“I believe Trump is the most supportive president for businesses in our history,” Ackman said on the program.

Ackman pointed out that President Trump’s infrastructure and tax proposals have had a positive impact on businesses.

The prominent investor admitted to being somewhat concerned about President Trump’s tariff policy announced in April, which initially caused market fluctuations. However, he praised Trump for adjusting his stance after he suggested a temporary halt on implementing the policy.

“I trust the president,” Ackman said. “I think he is doing a fantastic job.”

Ackman also expressed his belief that the geopolitical risks facing the market have been decreasing.

As the CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management based in New York City, Ackman emphasized the upcoming New York City mayoral election during the interview. He expressed worries about President Trump’s concerns for New York City.

Ackman stated that it would be “too terrifying for New York” if the Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani were to be elected as mayor.

Ackman urged CEOs of businesses in New York City to encourage their employees to vote in the upcoming mayoral election next month to prevent Mamdani’s election, as his candidacy makes Wall Street uneasy.

While Ackman acknowledged Mamdani’s pointing out of the problems in New York City, particularly appreciating his focus on affordable housing and public safety, he believed that the Democratic candidate has taken the wrong policies to address these challenges.

“We do not want a socialist to lead the most important financial city in the country,” Ackman stated.
