In the early hours of the 17th, heavy rain continued to pour over Baoji City, with floodwaters sweeping away car after car parked along the streets, creating a chaotic and alarming scene. According to an official Weibo post from the China Railway Xi’an Group Co., Ltd. Baoji Service Section on the 17th, around 1 a.m., a railway bridge at K92+800 on the Fengzhou to Qiliping section of the Baocheng line was damaged by floodwaters, causing a motorcycle conducting flood patrol inspection to fall from the bridge, leading to injuries to two motorcycle crew members.
Due to the continuous heavy rainfall, all passenger trains passing through the Baocheng line had been suspended since July 14th.

The Shaanxi Provincial Meteorological Observatory issued a continued yellow rainstorm warning at 11:45 a.m. on July 17th, stating that areas in the southern counties of Baoji City, the southern counties of Xianyang City, some counties in Hanzhong City, the northern counties of Ankang City, and the northern counties of Shangluo City have already received precipitation exceeding 50 millimeters, with more rain expected to persist. Over the next 6 hours, rainfall amounts exceeding 50 millimeters are predicted in multiple counties, accompanied by short-lived heavy rain or thunderstorms with strong winds.
Furthermore, the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Water Resources and the Shaanxi Provincial Meteorological Bureau jointly issued a mountain flood disaster meteorological warning: from 9 a.m. on July 17th to 9 a.m. on July 18th, mountain flood disasters are likely to occur in several cities and counties (blue alert level).
