At a high school graduation ceremony in Louisville, Ohio, students erupted in cheers. A heartwarming video capturing their celebration was released online and quickly went viral. The video had been secretly edited into a tear-jerking collage. Since late May, this video has touched the hearts of over 40 million viewers worldwide.
The clever editor creatively spliced footage of young children leaping from their kindergarten days into the collage video. The scenes transitioned to the high school graduation ceremony 13 years later, symbolizing the 13-year student journey at the Louisville City schools. As they leapt in kindergarten, they gently landed as graduates.
As seen in the adorable short video, a toddler taking her first steps began her little jump, a young woman with full wings completed her leap. At the high school graduation ceremony, she wore a cap and gown, soaring across the screen. The video seems to convey, “Life passes by quickly.” Just like the title of the video, “In the Blink of an Eye.”
Jen Wilson, a spokesperson for Louisville City schools, told Epoch Times, “I asked kindergarten teachers if I could borrow two students to film outside the hallway. In less than five minutes, I recorded all the kids’ jumping processes on my phone.”
One of the children asked, “Why aren’t we teenagers now?” Miss Wilson explained, “It’s movie magic. You will see the edited video from your teachers.”
Students from different age groups had varying feelings during the filming. Among these kindergarten students set to graduate in 2036 is Addison Beamer, who told Fox News Digital, “To one day be the one graduating from Louisville High School, a big girl, that’s just super cool!”
6-year-old Griffan Greco expressed his eagerness to grow up.
Elizah Adkins, one of the graduates heading to the University of Akron, shared her sentiments about moving towards a bright future and career in the coming years.
Ms. Adkins reflected, “It’s been very exciting to spend this final time and make memories with my classmates. After watching the final video, I was moved as it showed how quickly time flies. One moment, we were kindergarten kids playing together during class breaks, the next moment, we were seniors enjoying the last moments at the same school.”
Caleb Riley, who will attend Ohio State University, stated that participating in the filming was a pleasant experience. He didn’t expect the kindergarten children to be part of the video but still offered some wise words to them.
Mr. Riley shared with the media, “The advice I gave to the kindergarten kids was to always consider others first, your birth is purposeful, spread positivity to the world no matter what you face, and believe in God.”
Apart from the students involved in the filming, this inspiring short video also moved 40 million online viewers globally. Countless netizens sent their congratulations, praised the adorable children, and admired the cleverness of the collage video, agreeing with its profound message.
Jennie May Felix commented, “My children are about to finish second and fourth grades, as a senior teacher with 22 years of experience, it’s too fast for me. Thank you for the tears.”
April Franco teary-eyed, wrote, “Absolutely love this video! Such a fantastic idea! Crying so much, it’s hilarious!”
Dee Dee Khal offered advice to parents, saying, “This is great! In the blink of an eye, they grow up. I love this video. Spend more time with your kids, work isn’t as important. Looking back, why did I prioritize work?”
