Healthy Insurance “Health Day” to take place on October 25, focusing on chronic disease management and prevention among the elderly.

【Epoch Times October 17, 2025】 To promote health education and elderly care services, CenterLight Healthcare PACE will be hosting the “CenterLight Health and Wellness Fair” on Saturday, October 25th from 10 am to 2 pm at The Salvation Army Activity Center in Brooklyn (7307 18th Ave, Brooklyn). The event is free and open to the community.

CenterLight Healthcare President and CEO Tara Buonocore-Rut officially announced this news at a press conference held on October 15th at the Flushing Activity Center. She stated that CenterLight Healthcare has been deeply rooted in the community for a long time, dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare and chronic disease management services for the elderly. The PACE program covers medical care, rehabilitation therapy, nutritional counseling, social work support, transportation services, and offers multilingual services. They tailor personalized care plans to allow the elderly to “stay healthy at home and live with peace of mind.”

Tara emphasized that the purpose of hosting the “Health Day” is to “bring health services into the community and allow seniors to proactively understand their own conditions,” hoping to raise awareness about chronic disease prevention and mental health. “Our mission is to help the elderly enjoy their later years with dignity in familiar surroundings.”

Sophia Chu, Director of the Chinese Service Department at CenterLight Healthcare and registered nurse, expressed gratitude to major medical and nursing institutions for their support, emphasizing, “Our main goal in hosting Health Day is to ensure that the elderly can live healthily and safely at home.”

The event will feature a variety of activities. Dr. Rendr Pan from Rendr will speak on “Management of Hypertension, Hyperlipidemia, and Diabetes Through Diet,” while Dr. Liu from the Chinese American Independent Practice Association (CAIPA) will discuss mental health issues among the elderly. On-site, the Chinese American Nurses Association (CANA) will provide free blood pressure screenings, and CAIPA and Rendr medical teams will offer health consultations. Several nursing institutions, including Allstar Homecare, Better Choice, Home Family Care, True Care, and New Health Care, will collaborate to provide diverse health education and long-term care information to the community.

In addition to refreshments and a raffle, there will be interactive platforms for community members to learn about health knowledge and share community care in a relaxed atmosphere. CenterLight Healthcare encourages community members to actively participate and work together to promote a healthy lifestyle, achieving the goal of “starting from caring, continuing health.”
