The Republic of China’s military exercise, codenamed “Hanguang 41”, will begin a 10-day, 9-night, 24-hour continuous drill on the 9th of the month. The Ministry of National Defense announced this afternoon that since 7:30 in the morning, they have detected 20 instances of People’s Liberation Army aircraft conducting activities at sea. The ROC military is closely monitoring and responding to these activities.
In a press release at 4:50 p.m. today, the Republic of China’s Ministry of National Defense stated that the “Hanguang 41 Exercise” involving live troops will commence on the 9th. It will integrate the three military branches for a 10-day, 9-night, 24-hour continuous exercise, encompassing a full range of defensive military operations and military-civilian integration.
With a focus on realistic combat training requirements, the ROC military is simulating various battlefield scenarios during the exercise. Any unexpected circumstances that arise during the operation will be treated as training opportunities, allowing personnel to gain experience and enhance overall combat readiness.
Due to the extended duration of “Hanguang 41,” the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China noted that various units will be frequently and for long periods present on streets, coastal areas, airspace, and other locations. This may cause some inconvenience to the public in terms of daily life and transportation, and the ministry asks for understanding and support from the people.
The Ministry of National Defense emphasized that during the exercise, there may be deliberate dissemination of misinformation or rumors by certain individuals or groups concerning military activities or false information. They urge the public to remain vigilant and not easily believe in false information. The military personnel are committed to their duty of safeguarding national security.

Thirteen of these instances crossed over the median line and its extension, entering the airspace in northern, central, and southwestern Taiwan regions to conduct harassment operations in coordination with naval vessels, under the pretext of “joint wartime patrol readiness.”
The Ministry of National Defense highlighted that the ROC military is using comprehensive intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance means to closely monitor these activities. They have deployed mission aircraft, naval vessels, and missile systems to appropriately respond to these provocations.
