Halle Berry Learns Multiple Martial Arts for Film, Breaks 10 Bones Successively

Halle Berry, the American actress who played “Storm” in the “X-Men” series, recently revealed that she had broken at least 10 bones and been knocked down three times on set due to her involvement in action films.

In a promotional video for her upcoming spy action comedy film “The Union,” 57-year-old Halle Berry teamed up with 53-year-old actor Mark Wahlberg to share the injuries they suffered while filming action movies. Berry disclosed, “I’ve been knocked out three times. I’ve broken an arm, ribs twice – once two ribs, the other time three ribs. I’ve broken my tailbone, two toes, and a finger, this finger.” Berry said, laughing while raising her middle finger on her right hand. Wahlberg listed his less dramatic injuries, “Torn meniscus, separated shoulder, self-inflicted bruises several times.”

Despite experiencing numerous injuries, Berry expressed her joy in learning martial arts skills, stating, “I learned jiu-jitsu, some Muay Thai, taekwondo, and shooting.”

Berry also reminisced about her experience portraying a diver in the 2012 film “Dark Tide.” She recalled, “I played a free diver, holding my breath for nearly two and a half minutes, feeling like death was imminent.”

Furthermore, Berry highlighted her role as the superhero “Storm” in the “X-Men” series, where she had to float in the air for extended periods. Berry smiled, saying, “It felt like everyone had gone to lunch, and I was just up there wondering for who knows how long, shouting, ‘Is anyone there? Is anyone there?'”

Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively starred as “Deadpool” and “Lady Deadpool” in “Deadpool & Wolverine.”

During the red carpet premiere of “The Union” on the evening of the 12th, Berry was interviewed by “Comicbook” about her involvement in “Deadpool & Wolverine.” She mentioned not discussing the project due to not meeting the conditions. Berry said, “I ran into Blake at a Marc Jacobs fashion show, and she asked, ‘Would you play Storm in my husband’s movie?’ I said, ‘Yes, if he asks me,’ but he never did.”

During the 1980s, Berry participated in several beauty pageants before pursuing a modeling career in Chicago, which eventually led to her acting career. She has appeared in numerous TV shows and movies, winning the Best Actress award at the 74th Academy Awards in 2001 for her role in “Monster’s Ball,” making her the first African-American woman to win the prestigious accolade.
