The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced on April 29th that senior citizens aged 65 and above participating in the “Reduced-Fare MetroCard” program can receive a new half-price MetroCard at the Customer Service Center (CSC) at subway stations on the day of registration. Disabled individuals applying for the half-price MetroCard can also receive assistance from staff at the customer service center and obtain a temporary half-price MetroCard before their application is approved. Additionally, customer service center personnel can assist passengers who have lost their cards or encounter problems.
The half-price MetroCard can be obtained at the following subway stations’ customer service centers:
(1) 34 St-Penn Station in Manhattan (served by 1/2/3 trains);
(2) 125 St in Manhattan (served by 4/5/6 trains);
(3) 161 St-Yankee Stadium in the Bronx (served by B/D/4 trains);
(4) 168 St in Manhattan (served by A/C/1 trains);
(5) Atlantic Ave-Barclays Center in Brooklyn (served by B/D/N/Q/R/2/3/4/5 trains);
(6) Coney Island-Stillwell Ave in Brooklyn (served by B/D/N/Q trains);
(7) Fordham Rd in the Bronx (served by 4 train);
(8) Flushing–Main St in Queens (served by 7 train);
(9) Fulton St in Lower Manhattan (served by A/C/J/Z/2/3/5 trains);
(10) Jackson Hts – Roosevelt Ave in Queens (served by E/F/R/7 trains);
(11) Myrtle-Wyckoff Ave in Brooklyn (served by M/L trains);
(12) St. George SIR in Staten Island;
(13) Sutphin Blvd–Archer Av–JFK Airport in Queens (served by E/J/Z trains);
(14) Times Sq–42 St in Manhattan.
In addition to visiting the customer service centers at nearby subway stations, applications for the half-price MetroCard can also be submitted at the New York City Transit Customer Service Center at 3 Stone St in Lower Manhattan, Mobile Vans, or through mail or online. Passengers currently holding a half-price MetroCard will receive a half-price OMNY card at a later date.
