Guiyang students in boarding class suffer collective food poisoning and are rushed to hospital for treatment.

On September 6, a netizen posted a video claiming that 27 children in a daycare class in Huaxi District, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, showed symptoms of food poisoning and were urgently sent to the hospital for treatment.

According to the netizen’s comments in the video, their child, who is in the first grade of a primary school in Huaxi District, Guiyang City, is enrolled in a daycare class at a center located in Xihu Binfen Plaza. Due to the unhygienic conditions in the daycare class, 27 children, including the netizen’s own 6-and-a-half-year-old child, suffered from food poisoning and are currently undergoing treatment.

Another netizen in the comments section mentioned that a total of 31 children displayed symptoms of suspected food poisoning. According to a report by Zonglan News, this netizen’s child is also enrolled in the same daycare class. The netizen stated that they contacted a teacher at the daycare center in the morning. The teacher mentioned that the main symptoms among the children included persistent high fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. Based on the information provided by the teacher, 31 children are experiencing these symptoms, and it is initially suspected that the issue may have stemmed from consuming noodles. The children are currently receiving medical care in the hospital.

Zonglan News reached out to the Jinkai Sub-bureau of the Guiyang Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau. Staff members responded that the incident occurred on September 5, with some children at the daycare center experiencing symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea. The exact number of affected children is unclear, and it has not been confirmed whether the symptoms were caused by food poisoning.

The incident has raised concerns among many parents online. Netizens expressed their thoughts, with one stating, “This is a real event, and my child is also one of the victims. It’s heartbreaking.” Another commented, “Being a parent is really tough. If you go to work, you can’t look after your child properly, and the child suffers as a result.” Another netizen shared, “It’s really difficult. If you don’t work, you have no money. If you work, the school doesn’t take care of the children after 4:00 PM and doesn’t allow them to stay at school during lunchtime. How many parents have the courage to have a second or third child?”

Another netizen raised a different issue, “A few days ago, there was news about a school where some students didn’t pay for lunch, so those who received meals had to eat outside. The principal said they were afraid the food sent from outside may not be safe. Who decides if the food sent from outside is safe? Take a look!” The conversation continued with concerns about the oversight of daycare centers and the responsibility of ensuring children’s safety.
