On May 12, the Communist Party of China (CPC) Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region announced that Li Wenbo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee’s Political and Legal Affairs Commission in the autonomous region, is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, and is currently under disciplinary review and supervision investigation by the autonomous region’s Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision.
According to his public resume, Li Wenbo was born in September 1973 in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province.
Li Wenbo has long served in the political and legal system, holding positions such as the Standing Committee Member and Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission in the Xingning District of Nanning City, Guangxi; Director of Information Inspection Division of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Party Committee; Director of Law Enforcement Supervision Office of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Party Committee; and Director of Stability Maintenance Guidance Office.
In 2019, Li Wenbo was appointed Deputy Mayor and Director of the Public Security Bureau in Hechi City. In July 2022, he became the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee’s Political and Legal Affairs Commission in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, until the current disciplinary investigation.
