Recently, in Yangjiang, Guangdong, a company posted a job opening on a recruitment platform with a monthly salary range of 8500 to 10000 RMB. However, the platform restricted the company from publishing the job posting, citing that the salary was higher than the average monthly salary for that position, and suggested it be modified to 8000 RMB/month or below. This news sparked heated discussions online.
According to the report by Vision News, on December 7th, the company that posted the job opening was contacted. The staff members explained that their company is engaged in the wind power industry in Yangjiang, Guangdong, and due to the need for labor, they posted the job opening on a recruitment platform, only to encounter the aforementioned situation during the posting process.
“Our industry offers relatively higher salaries, and we are not just hiring newcomers, but also experienced professionals,” said the staff member. They mentioned that they later complied with the platform’s request by uploading salary proofs of 10 employees over the past three months before the job posting was finally approved.
The customer service staff of the recruitment platform mentioned that they have implemented a salary review mechanism. If a recruiting company offers a salary that exceeds the industry’s average range, it triggers the mechanism. “The company needs to provide the necessary proof as required, and once the review is passed, they can proceed with the job posting as usual.”
This incident has sparked discussions and questions among netizens.
A user named “乙方中的乙方” commented: “I have been on the internet for 20 years and have seen various reviews, but this is the first time I’ve seen a restriction on companies offering high salaries. The platform claims to ensure authenticity, but isn’t it normal to hire experienced hands for wind power positions ranging from 8500 to 10000 in the coastal areas of Guangdong? Companies having to provide salary proofs might make job seekers think it’s a fraudulent recruitment offer, causing delays for both sides. Considering the current cost of living, this salary is just about enough to make ends meet, but with the platform’s intervention, legitimate hiring becomes even more challenging.”
Another user named “野生散養人” shared: “It reminds me of when my cousin was looking for a welding job a while back. The factory offered 9000 RMB, and the platform also caused a delay, only approving the posting after the salary proof was provided.”
