Guangdong Authorities Expose Beijing’s Refusal to Release Detained Yu Tengyu, His Mother to Advocate in Beijing

On August 30, 2024, Cow Tengyu’s mother Coco revealed to Epoch Times that the Guangdong authorities had told her that someone in Beijing was preventing Cow Tengyu’s release, so she had to go to Beijing to seek justice for her son.

The “Vulgar Wiki” case involving the daughter of a top CCP leader led to 20-year-old internet genius Cow Tengyu being wrongly convicted as the mastermind and sentenced to 14 years in prison. Cow Tengyu endured various forms of torture in prison, leading to a mental breakdown at one point.

Five years on, Coco has been tirelessly fighting for her son’s rights while facing various forms of repression and persecution. Due to Coco’s uncompromising attitude, the Guangdong authorities told her they were merely a small player in Cow Tengyu’s case and needed approval from Beijing to release him.

Coco stated, “In other words, the Guangdong authorities do not intend to confront the world. They refuse to release him solely because someone in Beijing does not allow it. I don’t know who is preventing the Guangdong authorities from releasing him, or whether it is directly related to the powerful Beijing official behind the framing of the wrongful case, Yang Ye.”

The “Vulgar Wiki” case originated from the leaking of personal information of Xi Jinping’s daughter, which led to the exposure of Cow Tengyu and others as scapegoats due to the inability of the Guangdong internet police to reach overseas sources.

Allegedly, Gu Yangyang, the administrator of “Vulgar Wiki,” was initially identified as the mastermind, but with substantial bribes from his family, he was cleared of charges while Cow Tengyu, with his advanced internet skills, was framed as the mastermind, along with 24 other youths who received severe sentences.

The overseas editor of “Zhina Wiki,” known for exposing corrupt officials in mainland China and Hong Kong, revealed to the media that the “Vulgar Wiki” case involved not only manipulation and torture but also shady money and power dealings.

After Cow Tengyu’s imprisonment, Coco has never stopped seeking justice for her son, despite multiple attempts on her life, resulting in severe injuries and disability.

Coco mentioned that Gu Yangyang had mentioned that his mother, Yang Ye, wielded immense power in China and had strong connections in Beijing, where high-ranking officials in Beijing and Shanghai obeyed her every command. Gu Yangyang even claimed that his mother could eliminate Coco effortlessly through her connections without facing any consequences.

On January 15, 2020, while taking a walk in the park to alleviate anxiety, Coco was attacked by a man who struck her head and face with a spiked stick, leaving her injured and traumatized.

On July 25, 2021, while exercising in the park, Coco was dragged into a thicket and brutally assaulted by a masked man wielding a spiked stick, but the intervention of a passing elderly couple saved her from potentially fatal harm.

The relentless attacks left Coco with multiple injuries, including a depression on the right side of her head that hasn’t healed to this day.

On August 16, 2021, while walking past a park entrance, Coco encountered two masked men, one of whom attempted to strike her with a spiked stick but was thwarted by the intervention of a passing car, preventing a fatal blow.

As a result of this attack, Coco’s right leg remains permanently disabled, unable to squat.

Coco firmly stated, “Since my son Cow Tengyu was wrongfully imprisoned due to the collusion of Yang Ye and Gu Yangyang, I have been constantly attacked. To this day, the persecution against me continues, with numerous state officials with a background in espionage actively targeting me and my loved ones. My path to seeking justice has once again been obstructed. I have every reason to believe that the repeated attacks against me are likely attempts by Yang Ye and Gu Yangyang to silence me.”

Coco remains determined, saying, “Regardless, I must go to Beijing to seek justice for myself and my son, no matter what it takes.”
