“Get Ready to Dance for the Spring: ‘Bring It On’ Coming Next Week!”

In an effort to promote community health and multicultural exchange, the Cupertino City Government, in collaboration with the non-profit organization Amazing Taiwan, is organizing the “Dance in the Plaza” street dance event. The lively event is set to take place on April 12th (Saturday) from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm at the plaza in front of the Cupertino Library, inviting people to come together and enjoy the vitality and joy of a spring afternoon through dance.

This event represents a new initiative by the Cupertino City Government to encourage community engagement, aiming to create an outdoor activity suitable for families through lively music and dance. Mayor Zhao Liangfang stated, “I hope that dancing is not just about appreciating performances, but also an opportunity for everyone to participate and engage with different ethnic groups, allowing everyone to integrate and become one big family through rhythm.”

The event will showcase a blend of Taiwanese traditional dances and various multicultural dance forms including Taiwanese folk dances, line dances, and more. The organizers are also in talks with Indian ethnic groups for future collaborations, and are looking forward to incorporating Korean, Israeli, and European dances to gradually expand the scope of cultural exchanges.

President Kao Chunhui of Amazing Taiwan expressed, “Dance is the most natural language. Through dance, we hope to bring people closer together, encouraging more community residents to dance for health and friendship.”

As the inaugural event, “Dance in the Plaza” has garnered strong support from the city government and various community groups, expecting to attract hundreds to thousands of attendees. Mayor Zhao hinted at the possibility of hosting two to three more events this year if the response is enthusiastic, with plans to extend the dance venues to cities like Fremont, keeping the dance craze burning strong.

The organizers sincerely invite the public to bring their families and join the festive occasion on the sunny afternoon of April 12th, dancing to the music and rhythms of spring under the vibrant colors of life.
