General Motors recalls over 62,000 Chevrolets for brake issues.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced on Thursday that General Motors (GM) is recalling 62,468 vehicles in the United States. The reason for the recall is a potential fault in the brake pressure sensor module, which could lead to brake fluid leakage and increase the risk of electrical short circuits.

According to NHTSA, electrical short circuits can cause overheating, which in turn can result in fires and pose a risk of injury. The organization also noted that even if the vehicles are turned off or unattended, there is still a possibility of fires starting under the hood.

The recall covers certain models of the Chevrolet Silverado from the years 2019 to 2024.

Earlier on April 29th, General Motors announced a global recall of 721,000 SUVs and trucks due to engine issues that could result in power loss and increase the risk of collisions.
