Fukushi Sota’s First Experience Acting in a Korean Drama Alongside Kim Sun-ho and Ko Yoon-jung

Netflix has unveiled the main cast lineup of its latest Korean drama “Can This Love Be Translated?” today (27th). The drama, starring popular Korean actors Kim Sun-ho and Ko Yoon-jung, will also feature renowned Japanese actor Sota Fukushi in a leading role.

The script for the drama is penned by the famous screenwriting duo, the Hong Sisters (Hong Jeong Eun and Hong Mi Ran), known for their work on popular Korean dramas such as “You’re Beautiful,” “Master’s Sun,” “Hotel Del Luna,” and “Hwayugi.” The directing duties are entrusted to Lee Yung Eun, known for her work on “Friendship Contract” and “Red Hearts.”

Kim Sun-ho, who gained immense popularity from “Start-Up” and “Catch the Ghost,” will play the role of a multilingual translator, Zhou Hao Zhen, fluent in English, Japanese, Italian, and other languages in “Can This Love Be Translated?”

On the other hand, Ko Yoon-jung, known for her roles in “The Light in Your Eyes” and “The Cursed,” will portray top Korean star Cha Moo-hee in the drama. Lee Yi-tan and Choi Yu-sung also join the cast as main actors.

Sota Fukushi, famous for his roles in Japanese dramas like “Library Wars” and “I Won’t Go to Work Today,” is making his debut in a Korean drama with this project. As a result, he has signed a contract with the prominent Korean drama production company “Triii Studio,” led by the producers of “Crash Landing on You.”

Speaking about his participation in the Korean drama “Can This Love Be Translated?,” Fukushi expressed his excitement on the company’s official website, stating, “I am very happy to collaborate with everyone in Korea this time. My dream is to work with people from around the world, so I am looking forward to meeting a new version of myself in this project.”

Fukushi added, “Recently, we finished the script reading and rehearsals, and I felt the warm atmosphere on set among the cast and crew, making me even more excited for the filming. To fully utilize my abilities, I hope to deepen communication with everyone and learn from each other.”
