Fujian teacher instructs entire class to beat up classmate, school’s report sparks public outrage.

Recently, a parent named Li Zhibin from Quanzhou Julong Foreign Language School in Fujian Province reported that a teacher at the school instructed the entire class to physically assault his son. Prior to this incident, Li’s son had also been coerced into posing nude by a female life education teacher. Despite his complaints, the parent found no recourse and resorted to seeking help online.

According to Li Zhibin’s account in a video, on the night of June 20, Friday, his son returned home on holiday displaying unusual behavior. Initially reluctant to speak, his son eventually broke down emotionally and recounted his ordeal at the school.

Li Zhibin explained that on that day, his son accidentally hit the air conditioner with a sandbag at school. Without fully understanding the situation, the class teacher immediately ordered each student to slap his son on the ear. Most of the students slapped his son forcefully, with some even doing so twice. His son cried uncontrollably, unable to seek help while classmates mocked him freely and the class teacher stood by indifferently. After the incident, the class teacher even told the students there were still some who hadn’t hit his son and urged them to continue.

Upon hearing this, Li Zhibin immediately sought confirmation from other students and the class teacher. Other students confirmed the incident as described by his son. “Both my wife and I were dumbfounded on the spot, my wife became emotionally distraught and wept as she held our son,” he said.

Subsequently, Li Zhibin drove to the school with his son to request access to the surveillance footage but was refused by the school. “The school explained that the class teacher’s intentions were supposedly ‘well-meaning’ in an attempt to justify their actions,” he said.

Li Zhibin then reported the incident to the police. After their intervention, surveillance footage was reviewed which confirmed his son’s account. However, both the school and the police rejected his requests for a copy of the footage.

Li Zhibin stated that he couldn’t sleep all through the night upon returning home, and his wife cried incessantly. “Given our family’s financial circumstances, sending our child to this school is already beyond our capabilities, with an annual tuition fee of over 50,000 yuan,” Li Zhibin said. “We simply hoped to provide our child with a better environment to the best of our abilities, but we never expected that we would be pushing our son into hell with all our might.”

Li Zhibin also mentioned, “Two years ago, a student from the school jumped off a building after returning home, living in our neighborhood. The thought is terrifying.”

In another video segment, Li Zhibin revealed that a female life education teacher at the school had also taken nude photos of his son with a mobile phone and shared them with another female teacher. On June 23, he filed a report with a lawyer regarding this.

The incident has sparked public attention online.

On July 11, the school administration announced that student Li was found throwing a sandbag towards the standing air conditioning unit inside the classroom. In order to instill disciplinary measures, the class teacher Zhao instructed the classmates to “give Li a pat as a form of education.” Zhao, the class teacher, was dismissed on June 22 for inappropriate disciplinary actions.

Regarding the incident of student Li being photographed nude by the life education teacher, the school statement mentioned that, “In November 2024, after Li walked naked in the dormitory following a bath, a side profile photo of the child was taken by the class teacher for educational purposes, which was later deleted after discussion with the teacher. Upon on-site inspection, no evidence of the photos described by Li was found, and there was no evidence of public dissemination.”

The school’s announcement has been questioned by netizens, with comments criticizing the reported version of events. The public pointed out discrepancies in the school’s statement, questioning the adequacy of dismissing the teacher and emphasizing the need for legal accountability. Some expressed concerns about the leniency towards criminal behavior and questioned the suitability of such individuals to be educators.

Furthermore, netizens expressed skepticism towards the school’s attempt to distort the facts. Several former students of the school who witnessed the parent’s video voluntarily provided videos and written accounts of being bullied during their time at the school. This raised concerns that the issue is not isolated but rather reflects a long-standing practice of teachers bullying students, which is deeply alarming. The public eagerly anticipates further developments.

On July 11, the topic of “Fujian elementary school student assaulted by classmates and photographed nude by teacher” surged to the top of Weibo’s trending topics.
