On Saturday (October 4th), Mark Sanchez, a sports commentator for Fox Sports, was stabbed in Indianapolis, according to reports. He is currently in stable condition.
Fox News reported on Saturday afternoon that former NFL player and current Fox Sports commentator Sanchez was stabbed in Indianapolis and is currently recovering in the hospital. He had plans to report on the upcoming game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday (5th).
In a statement, FOX Sports confirmed that Sanchez is currently in “stable condition”, but did not disclose the specific reason for his injury.
The statement read: “Sanchez was injured in Indianapolis on Saturday and is currently recovering in the hospital in stable condition. We are very grateful for the diligent care and support of the medical team. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mark, and we kindly ask everyone to respect his and his family’s privacy during this time.”
TMZ Sports was the first to report the news of Sanchez being stabbed early Saturday morning.
According to reports, around 12:30 AM on Saturday, police received a call reporting two injured individuals on a street in downtown Indianapolis, one of whom was former NFL quarterback Sanchez, who was seriously injured from being stabbed.
Sanchez was then rushed to the local hospital in critical condition. The cause of this violent incident is currently unclear.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department released a statement on Saturday morning stating that the incident involved two adult males, one of whom was slashed while the other was stabbed.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department confirmed the identities of the two injured individuals and stated that this was an isolated incident, not a random act of violence.
