Former Vice Chairman of CPPCC Hebei Province Jiang Deguo Investigated After 7 Years of Retirement

Retired former Vice Chairman of the Hebei Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, Jiang Deguo, has been investigated after more than 7 years of retirement.

According to CCTV news of the Chinese Communist Party, on September 20th, former Vice Chairman of the Hebei Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, Jiang Deguo, is “suspected of serious violations of discipline and law” and is currently under investigation.

Public records show that Jiang Deguo, born in January 1957 in Fucheng, Hebei, has never left Hebei in his career. In his early years, he served as Deputy Director of the Research Office of the Hengshui District Committee in Hebei Province. He later served as Secretary of the Wuyi County Committee, member of the Standing Committee and Secretary-General of the Hengshui Municipal Committee, Deputy Secretary and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the Chengde Municipal Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Xingtai Municipal Committee, Acting Mayor, Mayor, and Secretary of the Municipal Committee, Deputy Secretary and Mayor of the Shijiazhuang Municipal Committee, Vice Governor of Hebei, and Secretary of the Tangshan Municipal Committee. He served as Vice Chairman of the Hebei Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference from January 2017 to January 2018.

Including Jiang Deguo, a total of 44 senior officials of the Chinese Communist Party have been investigated and fallen from grace this year.
