Former Director of the Volleyball Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of the Chinese Communist Party, Li Quanqiang, has been sentenced to 10 years and 3 months in prison.
According to the official WeChat account of the Jiangsu Provincial High Court on April 7th, Li Quanqiang was sentenced to a 10-year and 3-month prison term for bribery, along with a fine of 800,000 RMB.
Public records show that Li Quanqiang, who is 63 years old, has been involved in volleyball sports management for a long time, having served as the head of the national volleyball team and as the director of the Volleyball Sports Management Center since 2017 before retiring in August 2022. Li Quanqiang was investigated in January 2025.
According to reports from Jiemian News, Li Quanqiang is the second director of the Volleyball Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of the Chinese Communist Party to fall from grace. His predecessor, Pan Zhichen, was investigated in August 2015 and sentenced to 4 years in prison for bribery in November 2017.
