This week in Flushing, a home invasion robbery occurred. Two male suspects violently assaulted two victims, stole cash, and quickly fled the scene. Police are hoping for the public’s assistance in providing clues to apprehend the suspects as soon as possible.
The 109th Precinct of the city police department stated that the incident took place in a residential building near the intersection of Sanford Ave and College Point Blvd in Flushing. In the early hours of Wednesday, June 18, two men broke into the building. Once inside, the suspects brutally beat and attempted to strangle the two victims. One of the victims is a 70-year-old woman, and the other is a 65-year-old man. The suspects then stole approximately $700 and $50 from the victims before fleeing the scene. Following the incident, the victims experienced pain and bruising in their necks and heads but declined medical treatment.
Police are reminding the public to make sure doors are securely locked to prevent strangers from intruding and to safeguard personal property and safety. They are also urging individuals to help identify the two home invasion robbers seen in surveillance footage by providing information to the authorities. As of now, no suspects have been arrested, and the case is still under investigation.
