Flushing Massage Parlor Murder: Chinese Man Kills Wife

In Flushing’s bustling district yesterday afternoon (September 3), a shocking incident took place in broad daylight. A 24-year-old Chinese man stormed into a massage parlor at the intersection of Kissena Boulevard and Main Street at around 5:41 pm and repeatedly stabbed a 26-year-old young lady working inside, causing her to collapse in a pool of blood. She was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. The man was arrested on the spot. The two individuals were husband and wife, and according to sources, they had recently arrived in the United States from mainland China about a month ago. The woman reportedly had an abortion two weeks prior.

Street discussions were abound with speculations. Some said that the man was displeased about his wife’s abortion and might have also been unhappy about her working at the massage parlor, leading to an argument and the ensuing violence.

The incident occurred around 5:41 pm at a massage parlor located at 41-39 Kissena Boulevard, where the purported 26-year-old Chinese woman was found lying in a pool of blood. The scene was gruesome, with large amounts of fresh blood on her body and the floor. She was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Queens where her death was confirmed. A young Chinese man was then taken away by the police.

According to police reports, the couple were in their twenties, and the man, aged 24, was promptly arrested following reports of domestic violence. The woman sustained multiple stab wounds to her neck and abdomen. The authorities found the knife used in the attack on the scene.

After receiving the report, over a dozen police cars, ambulances, and fire trucks arrived at the scene, cordoning off the area and drawing a large crowd of onlookers. The commotion sparked various discussions among the people. The police vehicles did not start leaving until the evening. At the scene, reporters witnessed police officers conducting investigations inside the massage parlor until nearly 9 pm, with New York City Police Department Crime Scene Unit cars parked outside, guarding the signs that read “Massage” and “BODYWORK.”

A woman with the surname Huang, who was in the same WeChat group as the deceased woman, informed our reporter that the victim, a 26-year-old from Guizhou, was stabbed by her husband. The couple had recently immigrated from China to the United States. They were apprehended during their illegal entry, and because the woman was pregnant, she was released immediately. She had been out for about a month, while her husband was released by immigration enforcement about a week prior.

Huang mentioned that after the victim was released, she had an abortion, rested for about ten days, and then started learning massage at the parlor where the tragic incident occurred. She had only been there for two to three days. On the other hand, the husband had been out for about a week and it is unclear whether he was upset about the abortion or displeased with his wife working at the massage parlour when he impulsively attacked her.

Among the spectators, Mr. Lin, a Fuzhou immigrant living nearby, expressed his dismay at the male immigrant’s lack of appreciation for the freedom he found in the US, bringing the hostility from mainland China here. He denounced their illegal immigrant status and believed that policies welcoming illegal immigrants to gain votes and the sanctuary city status in New York would face harsher criticism.

As of the time of writing, the investigation into the case is still ongoing.
