Flag-raising ceremony to be held at Nanwan on Double Ten Day, limited to one thousand exquisite mini shoulder bags giveaway.

To celebrate the 113th anniversary of the Republic of China, the Golden Mountain Bay Area National Day Committee will hold a flag-raising ceremony on October 5th (next Saturday) at the Santa Clara County Government Plaza, followed by a National Day banquet at the South Bay Overseas Chinese Educational Center that evening. Overseas Chinese and those who love the Republic of China are invited to participate.

The flag-raising ceremony in the morning will start promptly at 10:10 am. The drum team will kick off the National Day celebrations with the theme of “Drums echoing to welcome Double Tenth”, expecting to attract thousands of participants.

The National Day banquet will be held at 6:30 pm that evening with 45 tables set up, with only 2-3 tables available for reservation at this point. There will also be a lucky draw during the event.

The Chairman of the Golden Mountain Bay Area National Day Committee, Ye Yunhe, expressed enthusiasm in organizing this grand celebration and banquet, sincerely inviting all overseas Chinese to join in the festivities. He mentioned that the committee has meticulously produced a beautiful colored National Day yearbook this year, along with a diverse program of ceremonies, emphasizing the spirit of teamwork.

The flag-raising ceremony will feature multiple flag teams, including the Chung Yung-Chi unicycle flag team, Whampoa Military Academy flag team, Navy and Air Force flag team, Fuxinggang and Beitou Girls’ High School flag team, Boy Scouts flag team, and more. Additionally, there will be performances such as Taiwanese folk dance, Shaolin martial arts, and the Three Princes’ drum performance to enrich the cultural vibrancy of the event.

During the event, thousands of snacks and small tote bags will be specially prepared as gifts for attendees. Guests can collect them with their number tags, allowing everyone to enjoy thoughtful souvenirs while participating in the activities.

Director Zhuang Yashu of the Overseas Chinese Educational Center emphasized that the flag-raising ceremony not only embodies the patriotic sentiments of the entire overseas Chinese community but also demonstrates deep support for the Republic of China.

Every year, as overseas Chinese participate in the flag-raising ceremony and witness the national flag with the blue sky, white sun, and red earth waving in the wind, it evokes strong emotions. She specifically thanked the National Day Committee for their meticulous preparation, providing not just exciting performance programs but also exquisite gifts for the overseas Chinese. On behalf of the Overseas Chinese Committee, Director Zhuang expressed gratitude to the National Day Committee and urged the overseas Chinese in Northern California to actively participate.

Finally, the National Day Committee reminds guests that there is ample parking available across from the Santa Clara County Government Plaza to facilitate parking for everyone.
