Fire at International Airport in Capital of Bangladesh Forces Suspension of All Departing Flights.

On October 19, 2025, in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, a major fire broke out at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s cargo terminal, causing all departing flights to be temporarily suspended.

According to Reuters, an official from the Fire Service and Civil Defence media liaison unit in Bangladesh, Talha Bin Zasim, reported that 36 firefighting teams are currently on site trying to extinguish the fire.

The airport manager, Masudul Hasan, informed the media that airport operations have been halted and reassured that all aircraft are safe and undamaged.

This incident marks the third major fire reported in Bangladesh this week. It began with a chemical warehouse fire on the 14th, which claimed the lives of 16 people. Following that, a garment factory in the export processing zone of the port city of Chittagong was also engulfed in flames.
