Popular mainland Chinese actress Bai Lu, known for her leading roles in dramas like “Zhou Sheng Ru Gu” and “Ning An Ru Meng,” recently disclosed during the wrap-up of her new drama “Mo Li” that she has been suffering from an unidentified illness, causing her to lose 4 kilograms in just one month. This revelation has left her fans deeply concerned.
On October 10th, Bai Lu revealed at the filming wrap-up of “Mo Li” that she had been diagnosed with an unknown illness in August this year, experiencing persistent headaches, neck discomfort, severe fatigue, and a sudden loss of appetite. Despite visiting various departments for medical consultation, including dermatology, neurology, and orthopedics, and undergoing tests like CT scans and MRIs, the cause of her condition remains undetermined. Standing at 165cm tall, she saw her weight drop from the original 47 kilograms to 43 kilograms within a short span of a month.
The 31-year-old actress shared that as Western medicine failed to provide a diagnosis, she turned to traditional Chinese medicine combined with Western medicine for treatment, leading to a gradual improvement in her condition. Bai Lu admitted to feeling “weak and desperate” during the recovery process but credited her fans’ support as a driving force that kept her going. She expressed gratitude for her family’s accompaniment throughout, with even her brother accompanying her to medical appointments on multiple occasions.
Regarding her decision to disclose her illness publicly only now, Bai Lu explained, “I didn’t want everyone to worry, so I have always followed the habit of sharing good news without burdening others.” Consequently, she had minimal interaction with fans throughout August. At the wrap-up event of her new drama, she prepared over a thousand supporter meals to express her gratitude to fans, creating a warm atmosphere at the venue.
Moreover, Bai Lu’s mention of an “unidentified illness” sparked discussions among fans. Some speculate that it could be related to mental health issues like anxiety, similar to Zhao Lusi’s experience. Adding to the concerns, Bai Lu had multiple drama projects aired this year, including “Bai Yue Fan Xing,” “Bei Shang,” and “Lin Jiang Xian,” along with the urgent filming of the new drama “Mo Li.” During the promotion of “Lin Jiang Xian” earlier, Bai Lu had already mentioned plans to take a rest next year, making the confirmation of her health problems now more alarming for her fans.
