Five years ago, mainland Chinese teenage prodigy Niu Tengyu was sentenced due to the leak of information involving the daughter of the Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping. On the evening of September 17, his father went to the doorstep of the Guangdong Reception Office of the Central Inspection Team to protest his case and was surrounded and beaten by more than ten unidentified men before being rushed to the hospital.
Niu Tengyu’s mother, Coco, told Epoch Times that around 7:30 p.m. on the 17th, Niu Tengyu’s father, under the surveillance of Henan stability maintenance personnel, arrived at the doorstep of the inspection team in Guangdong. Two young men claiming to be inspection team staff approached him and led him inside.
Suspecting their identities, Niu Tengyu’s father asked for their names, and as soon as he did, over ten men in black immediately came forward and started assaulting him.
His father was left completely paralyzed from the beating, unable to move, with injuries to his arms, legs, and neck and was later admitted to the 12th Hospital in Guangzhou for treatment.
Coco said that the Henan stability maintenance personnel had been standing outside the Guangdong Reception Office of the Inspection Team, watching, without intervening to stop the men in black. That night, stability maintenance personnel even went to the hospital to threaten Niu Tengyu’s father not to speak out.
Coco believed that these individuals planned to attack her husband and were likely instigated by those in Guangdong responsible for framing her son. “Normally, if you show your credentials and say we are police or law enforcement, you take him away, that’s the procedure. They said nothing, and unidentified individuals beat him up.”
She stated that the attack was orchestrated by the Guangdong Political and Legal Affairs Commission, as they feared the issue might reach the inspection team.
According to her, with so many security personnel from the inspection team and numerous surveillance cameras, even on the trees outside, how could a group of thugs storm in? The most likely scenario is that they were hired by the Guangdong Political and Legal Affairs Commission. “The Guangdong Political and Legal Affairs Commission has been obstructing my appeals, hiring people to persecute me from afar.”
Coco stressed the need to hold the perpetrators accountable for the assault. When reporters called the Guangdong Inspection Team, no one answered.
Niu Tengyu was arrested in July 2019 in connection to the case of leaking information about Xi Jinping’s daughter (also known as the “Vulgar Wiki Case”). He was arrested by authorities in Maoming, Guangdong, subjected to torture for confessions, and falsely labeled as the “prime suspect” after which, on December 30, 2020, the Intermediate People’s Court of Maoming City, Guangdong Province, sentenced him to 14 years on charges of “provocation” and “illegal business operations.” Niu Tengyu’s grandparents both passed away unable to bear the shock.
At the time of his arrest, Niu Tengyu was only 19 years old. Coco fought for her son’s justice through the Higher Court of Guangdong Province, the Political and Legal Affairs Commission, and the Public Security Bureau, all while facing threats from armed police. Over the past five years, she has endured kidnapping attempts, attempted murder, poisoning, and other forms of persecution.
Coco expressed that her body has suffered significant harm, with numerous injuries. “My right leg has been crippled, I cannot squat, cannot take care of myself, and need assistance.” In order to seek justice for her son, she must continue to fight back. “If you remain silent, they will make you disappear.”
