Taiwanese popular band Gao Wu Ren, after a gap of 1 year and 4 months, returned to Malaysia to perform once again. They upgraded from a venue of more than 2,000 people to a stadium that can accommodate tens of thousands, holding their “Gao Wu Ren First New World Tour Concert [The Fun of the Universe]” at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on the 15th and 16th of this month. The first show on Saturday (15th) was sold out, leaving the band members deeply moved.
For their second performance in Malaysia, Gao Wu Ren followed the local custom and showed off the Malay they learned from the last visit, saying “Apa khabar?” (How are you?) and the phrase they learned that day, “Aku cinta padamu!” (I love you), confessing their love to the fans and humorously asking the fans if they have any standards.
During their performance of “Guardian of Wendy Princess,” a male fan proposed to his girlfriend on the spot, causing a stir and catching the attention of Gao Wu Ren, who offered their blessings. Yun An was touched and said, “As members of Gao Wu Ren, being able to participate in your life milestones is an honor for us!”
They also praised the suitor’s clever move of choosing the right song to propose. Yun An said, “They are very smart. They didn’t propose when we sang ‘Only,’ as all dedicated fans of Gao Wu Ren know, ‘Only’ is a very sad and emotional song, which is different from another song named ‘Only.'” This instantly drew a big laugh from the audience.
Gao Wu Ren happily shared their joy of being nominated for 4 major awards at the 35th Golden Melody Awards, and asked the fans if they think Gao Wu Ren will win. The fans in the audience enthusiastically shouted, “Yes!” which excited Yun An, who said, “We will carry all the blessings from Kuala Lumpur and move forward to the Golden Melody Awards!”
Gao Wu Ren has been nominated for 4 major awards at the 35th Golden Melody Awards, including Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Mandarin Album, and their third nomination for Best Band.
