Fan Bingbing opens up a new thread, fans are questioning why their comments are not showing

Chinese Actress Fan Bingbing, whose career took a hit after being blacklisted, has turned to overseas opportunities. On the 20th, she opened a social media platform called Threads and greeted her fans by sharing photos. However, when she reposted a message, several fans couldn’t view it, leading to surprise and inquiries from her followers.

In her first post on Threads, Fan Bingbing wrote in English, “New to Threads!” along with a starry-eyed emoji. In the two personal artistic photos she shared, she styled her long hair up with bangs swept to the right side of her forehead. Wearing a black top, black eyeliner, and bright red lipstick, her features appeared refined and accentuated her naturally fair complexion.

Within less than 24 hours, the post attracted 4,000 followers. Some fans curiously asked, “First?” to which Fan Bingbing replied, “Yes.” Others expressed amazement, with one fan joking, “I thought I woke up too early and was seeing things,” while another requested, “Since Sister downloaded it, can she bring along Chengcheng (Fan Chengcheng)?”

Interestingly, Fan Bingbing responded to comments in high spirits, such as when someone suggested her “little brother” Fan Chengcheng should also join, she replied with a thoughtful emoji.

Following that, Fan Bingbing reposted a message, but it was set to “private account,” making it invisible to non-friends who only saw the message as “unable to display.” This surprised fans, prompting one to ask, “Sister, what did you post that’s now a 404 error?” However, the account later adjusted its settings, revealing it to be Fan Bingbing’s beauty brand account, garnering support from many fans for her new venture.

Once a top actress in mainland China, Fan Bingbing faced a hefty fine exceeding 880 million RMB in 2018 for tax evasion, which abruptly halted her flourishing career. Despite paying the fine, she struggled on the brink of a comeback but to no avail. Frustrated, she shifted her focus overseas.

Increasingly active in international film festivals and fashion weeks, Fan Bingbing has recently been attending high-profile events and charity galas in Hong Kong, gathering with friends from the region. Rumors suggest that she has relocated to Hong Kong, settled in a luxurious residence in Mid-Levels, and penetrated the social circles of affluent women. Reports also mention several celebrities like Tang Wei, Li Sun, Zhang Ziyi, Zhou Xun, Hu Jun, and Huang Xiaoming who acquired Hong Kong permanent residency through the “Quality Migrant Admission Scheme” (QMAS). Insiders claim that Fan Bingbing may have abandoned the idea of resuming her acting career in mainland China.
