Renowned host Luo Gang from Hunan Radio and Television Station, 53, passed away due to a sudden heart attack.
On October 13, the Hunan Daily reported that Luo Gang, a well-known host from Hunan Radio and Television Station, passed away at the age of 53 on October 10 at 22:58 due to a sudden heart attack.
A memorial service for Luo Gang was held on the afternoon of October 13 at Changsha Yangming Mountain Funeral Home.
Luo Gang used to be a prominent host at Hunan Radio and Television Station. However, he was dismissed due to an incident during a performance.
In 2003, during a program, Luo Gang received a call from a listener claiming to be a “Japanese student,” who made inappropriate comments over the phone. Luo Gang did not disconnect the call promptly, and the content of the seven-minute program led to dissatisfaction among some listeners.
According to an article by the influential figure “Sharp Entertainment,” following this incident, Luo Gang was dismissed, and the person impersonating the “Japanese student” was subjected to two years of labor education.
After leaving his job at the radio station, Luo Gang wrote books, hosted events, and earned a living.
In recent years, Luo Gang opened his personal account and started sharing some psychological insights online, occasionally hosting live sessions. Over these years, Luo Gang amassed 860,000 followers. His last video post was in May of this year.
In 2024, Luo Gang moved to Japan. A few months ago, he returned to China, but during these last few months, he did not host any live sessions or post new videos.
