New York Falun Gong practitioners will hold a march and rally on April 21st (Sunday) at 12:00 pm in Flushing, a Chinese community, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the peaceful appeal at Zhongnanhai on April 25th. The Epoch Times and NTD websites, “Ganjing World,” YouTube Epoch Times and NTD channels will broadcast the event live. The public is welcome to come and watch the march and rally.
The theme of the march also includes calling on the world to unite in stopping the persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), supporting the over 43 million Chinese who have quit the CCP and signing the “End CCP” petition which has surpassed 4.2 million signatures.
Twenty-five years ago on April 25, 1999, thousands of Falun Gong practitioners peacefully appealed near the National Appeals Office in Zhongnanhai in Beijing, demanding a lawful environment for cultivation, legal publication of Falun Gong books, and the release of practitioners from Tianjin who had been detained for reflecting their situation. During the appeal, they approached the government with compassion, maintained peaceful rationality and order, even picking up cigarette butts discarded by police before leaving. This appeal was hailed as the “largest-scale, most rational and peaceful appeal since the CCP came to power.” The unyielding spirit of Falun Gong practitioners, characterized by peaceful rationality, great kindness, and perseverance, has attracted global attention and erected an eternal monument of morality.
The impact of this event has been profound. Over the past 25 years, Falun Gong practitioners have upheld the spirit of “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance” taught by the founder of Falun Gong, Mr. Li Hongzhi, to elevate themselves through genuine cultivation, uphold righteous faith, spread the truth, and save the world. Despite enduring persecution by the CCP, Falun Gong practitioners, guided by the principles of “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance,” courageously resist persecution while compassionately and rationally opposing it, widely spreading the teachings of Falun Dafa and the gospel of “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance” to awaken the conscience and benevolence of countless people, earning admiration and praise from the world.
Every year, New York Falun Gong practitioners hold a march to commemorate the peaceful appeal of April 25th in Flushing, Queens. This year, the march will commence at 12:00 pm on April 21st at the intersection of Main St. and 38th Ave.; the route will proceed along Main St., Sanford Ave., Kissena Blvd., eventually ending near the Flushing Library. A rally will be held next to the Kissena Blvd Library after the march.
Several prominent figures, Falun Gong practitioners, and supporters will speak at the rally. The public is welcome to come and listen.
