Recently, an explosion occurred in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province. Reports indicate that a property owner drove a sedan filled with explosives into a commercial building, causing multiple casualties.
On April 4th, user “Luoxiang” posted on social media that an explosion had taken place at the Shijiazhuang Sky Garden in Hebei Province on the 3rd. The incident was allegedly triggered by the mistreatment of the property owner by the management company, leading them to detonate a car full of explosives at the property company. There are also reports of a major explosion at the nearby Yidong Shopping Center near the Sky Garden.
Multiple videos from the scene show the area cordoned off, with police implementing traffic control measures. The videos also captured the sound of police cars or ambulances.
One video shows alarm sirens blaring on the street, with thick smoke from the explosion billowing between tall buildings. A security guard can be seen shouting into a walkie-talkie from the ground floor, urging people to seek shelter underground.
In another video, numerous fire trucks were parked outside a large shopping center bearing the sign “Yidong Shopping Center.” Several ambulances were seen coming in and out, busy evacuating the injured. The windows of a nearby parking lot were shattered due to the impact of the explosion.
Local netizens reported that a white car carrying flammable materials exploded on the sub-level floor of the building. Some residents claimed to have heard two consecutive explosions, causing crowds to frantically flee the building. It remains unclear whether the explosions occurred at the same location or at two separate sites.
Many local netizens speculated that this incident was an act of “social revenge,” with one individual stating that the explosion resulted in a total of “11” casualties.
However, there has been a lack of official communication or confirmation regarding the incident, as of the 5th of April.
