Explosion in a civilian house in Linzhang County, Handan City, Hebei Province, kills 3 and injures 3

On July 24th, an explosion occurred in a residential building in Ye Cheng Town, Linzhang County, Handan City, Hebei Province, resulting in 3 deaths and 3 injuries.

Witnesses reported that the blast completely destroyed the house, with one person found dead on the roadside and another person’s arm injured. A neighbor from the village where the explosion took place described the scene as chaotic and devastating.

According to the neighbor, around 5 am that morning, his wife and child were sleeping when the explosion shattered their house, causing cracks in the walls, the door to be blown off, and windows to shatter. His son sustained injuries to his arm, prompting his wife to rush him to the hospital, while he hurried back from Beijing to be with them.

The villager mentioned that aside from the casualties in his family, there were others injured as well. He recounted a harrowing scene where a person lay severely injured on the road, beyond help.

Online videos depicted the aftermath of the explosion, showing the demolished building with flames still burning, nearby vehicles twisted and deformed from the blast, and shattered glass from neighboring houses. The whole area was in disarray and destruction.

By noon on the 24th, the Emergency Management Bureau of Handan City confirmed that the incident was caused by a gas explosion in the villager’s home, leading to 3 deaths and 3 injuries. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
