Explosion at a shop in Yingkou, Liaoning creates a large hole in the facade.

On the morning of September 13th, an explosion occurred at a hotel in Dashiqiao City, Yingkou City, Liaoning Province, causing multiple injuries.

Videos posted by several netizens show that the storefront on the ground floor of a residential building exploded, causing the doors and windows of the first and second floors to be blown out. The scene was chaotic, with thick smoke billowing, and people lying on the ground downstairs, with fire trucks and ambulances parked nearby.

According to staff at a nearby pharmacy interviewed by Da Wan News, the explosion happened while they were at work. “Around 7 o’clock in the morning, about 200 meters from our store, we suddenly heard a loud noise. We thought it was an earthquake, and then the ground started shaking, shattering the windows of our store.”

According to official reports, at around 7:40 a.m. on September 13th, a gas leak from a liquefied gas cylinder in a commercial shop on the east side of the south gate of Jindi Jiayuan Community in Dashiqiao City caused a flash explosion, injuring four people at the scene. The cause of the accident is still unknown.

Xiaoxiang Morning News contacted the local emergency number 120 for more information, and the response was that they had received multiple injured persons but did not disclose the exact number.

However, some netizens commented that the storefront was a hotel, and a passerby on an electric bike with a child was also affected by the explosion.

According to nearby netizens, the explosion took place at “North Head Teacher Training College.” A video uploader in the comments section mentioned, “Fortunately, the accident happened in the morning. The opposite side is a grain and oil company that hadn’t started work yet, and there are very few people here in the morning, or else there would have been more injuries.”

Some netizens speculated, “The gas leak from the (liquefied gas cylinder) must have occurred last night, and it exploded once people arrived today.” Some expressed, “The danger of liquefied gas cylinders is too great. So tragic.” “It’s so terrifying.”
