This gripping political thriller exposes the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) concealment of crucial information and suppression of whistleblowers in the early stages of the pandemic, showcasing how their ‘beyond limits’ strategy silently undermines free societies through infiltration, technology, information warfare, and media manipulation.
The team behind the movie production has also been victims of the CCP’s ‘beyond limits’ tactics. Director Yan Ma faced interference from local Chinese government officials during filming, including harassment from national security agencies and having his family’s income cut off. Just three days before filming started, a lead actor received what appeared to be threats from the CCP in Canada and subsequently dropped out. The premiere of the film in Canada was unreasonably canceled the day before the event.
With all movie distributors in the United States rejecting its release, “Beyond Limits” decided to forgo theatrical release and opt for an exclusive debut on the GJW+ streaming platform on August 8th.
