China Airlines to Offer Free Wi-Fi in All Classes Starting August 1, 2025
China Airlines will officially launch free in-flight Wi-Fi service in all classes starting from August 1, aiming to enhance the overall flying experience for passengers. With this initiative, it becomes the first airline in Taiwan to provide free Wi-Fi on all routes and in all classes.
This service will cover the Boeing 777, Airbus A350, and A321neo aircraft, applicable to both long-haul and regional flights. Passengers in the luxurious Business Class and Premium Economy Class can have unlimited web browsing access, while Economy Class passengers can enjoy free instant messaging functions like LINE and Messenger. Additionally, China Airlines’ Dynasty, Emerald, and Gold card members will have unlimited Wi-Fi access regardless of the class they are flying in.
Zheng Yulin, the Regional Manager for China Airlines in the Americas, stated that to meet passengers’ demand for in-flight internet access, the company has invested in upgrading the on-board internet equipment. The Boeing 738 aircraft will continue to offer the “Fantasy Sky” wireless entertainment system, allowing passengers to enjoy movies, music, and access flight information through personal devices. The A330 fleet will gradually introduce similar services.
China Airlines is also optimizing its digital services by incorporating an interface design with Instagram-style stories and launching an upgraded version of AI customer service with multilingual dialogue capabilities. Passengers can also join China Airlines’ official LINE account “@chinaairlines” to receive real-time promotions and travel information.
Furthermore, China Airlines has revamped its in-flight dining experience in the third quarter of this year, collaborating with international partners to create exclusive high-altitude cuisine. For Business Class passengers on flights from Los Angeles and Ontario back to Taiwan, they will enjoy specialty joint meals with the well-known “Hsu’s American Ginseng,” featuring dishes like Ginseng Chicken Soup Noodles, Ginseng Goji Berry European Bread, and Ginseng Guava Plum Mousse, which are not only delicious but also nutritious.
On the Japan route, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of flying to Nagoya, China Airlines has partnered with the famous tonkatsu specialty store “Yabaton” to introduce Miso Tonkatsu meal in the Business Class section of the Nagoya-Taiwan flight. On the Tokyo route, collaboration with the Michelin-starred restaurant “Toh-Toh-An” highlights the “Summer Kaiseki – Heavenly Meal,” featuring A4 Wagyu beef, tomatoes, okra, and other ingredients to present a summer high-altitude feast.
For Economy Class, flights departing from Taiwan will collaborate with the renowned Bib Gourmand name, “Shuang Yue,” to offer dishes like Truffle Sauce Beef Rice, Scallion Salted Chicken Rice, and Skinless Pepper Chicken Cubes Rice, rotating these three surprises every month.
On long-haul flights, China Airlines partners with the Michelin three-star restaurant “Yi Palace” to create delicate Chinese-style meals. Simultaneously, the luxurious Business Class adds a pre-selected classic hot pot option, including Matsusaka pork, chicken legs, noodles, and seasonal vegetables. Breakfast options are expanded to include maple syrup pancakes, French crepes, bacon, and nutty fresh vegetable salad.
Zheng Yulin emphasized that China Airlines will continue to promote smart technology and innovation in dining to provide global passengers with a more convenient, comfortable, and diverse flying experience.
