Kai Trump, the granddaughter of former US President Donald Trump, recently spoke in an exclusive interview on the show “Fox & Friends” about the strong bond she shares with her grandfather through golf, expressing gratitude for the positive influence he has had on her athletic career.
“He taught me to keep striving, to never give up. Honestly, my golf game has improved a lot in recent years,” Kai stated in the episode aired on Tuesday, July 15th on “Fox & Friends.” “He taught me the value of perseverance, continuous practice… playing golf together has created a special emotional connection between us.”
At 18 years old, Kai, who is set to represent the University of Miami in NCAA women’s golf events, has secured NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) commercial contracts, becoming a brand ambassador for the sugar-free energy drink Accelerator. She announced her commitment to the Miami Hurricanes team last August, stating on Instagram that she is “excited for the future.”
The implementation of NIL contract system in 2021 allows college athletes to engage in brand partnerships leveraging their own influence, marking a significant transformation in the US sports industry. Kai’s endorsement deals illustrate the market value she holds as a young female athlete.
As the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and the oldest granddaughter in the Trump family, Kai has accompanied her grandfather to various events. Trump himself is an avid golfer with multiple golf courses under his name, showing enduring support for the sport. He has praised Kai’s skills numerous times, acknowledging her victories and lightheartedly remarking, “One day, she might beat her grandfather – but that may still be far off.”
During the interview, Kai admitted that growing up as a public figure’s granddaughter under the spotlight has its challenges. “The pressure is immense, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything else,” she said. “I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to meet so many people, collaborate with them, and even meet world leaders. I am grateful for it all.”
