On Sunday, September 21st, American billionaire and Tesla CEO Elon Musk appeared at a memorial event for conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The memorial was held at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Musk entered the stadium, waved to the people present, and then made his way to his seat. He shared a video of the stadium on his social media platform, X, saying, “Every seat in this massive stadium is packed, except for those separated by security ropes. Honored to be here. All for Charlie Kirk.”
The tech giant also posted on X, saying, “I know you are at peace, Charlie.”
“It is still hard to believe all that has happened,” he said, adding, “Your legacy will live on in our hearts.”
Musk remarked, “Charlie was killed by darkness for showing people the light.”
Since officially bidding farewell to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) he led at the end of May, Musk has been focusing on his businesses.
In addition to Musk and other prominent entrepreneurs, Kirk’s memorial also attracted top American officials. President Trump, Vice President Pence, Secretary of State Rubio, and several White House officials are scheduled to speak at the memorial service.
Before heading to Arizona for the memorial service, President Trump mentioned that Sunday would be a meaningful and challenging day. He stated that the service would be a healing moment.
On September 10th, Kirk was fatally shot during a campus event at the University of Utah. His death has deeply affected the conservative movement in the United States, leading to numerous memorial activities across the country, with Sunday’s event being the largest in scale.
